Organic Methods

An adventurous, creative and playful design was desired for this children's garden and dining patio. Edible gardens, Hugelkultur, a composting bio-friendly raised vegetable bed, sustainable recycled materials, reclaimed Grey Water irrigation, ensuring drainage with a bioswale and dry well, and walkable ground cover were core concepts for this fantasy-like garden.

Privacy and Family Entertaining

An urban garden designed for intensive use, a cook station close to
guests, relaxing in a lush private garden, chef's garden and individual
rooms were goals for a Chef and his wife. A mesh fence, covered
with vines and flowering ginger plants provide separation.

Fire pit seating behind Dining area and Bar

Color through the seasons, carefully chosen and edible plants make
for easy maintenance, with recycled artificial turf putting green.

Deer resistant plantings, smart / solar entry solutions

Natural stone, easy-care landscape, and a secure automatic
gate frame the driveway view. Replacing Italian cypress with
low-flammable plants is the next step in this renovation.

Making this a creative, fun and safe play space, with changing kid's art full of discovery and wonder, was our primary concept. Kid's play stations set up for different activities make clean up easy.

transitioning to natural landscape.

Whimsical ideas, concepts developed thorough discovery created a
personalized backyard, full of playful, evolving ideas. Edible plants and
recycled materials were goals of this leading edge sustainable, all electric
home. It works well for this young family and blends with the native landscape.
